Meanwhile, for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/how-to-get-free-youtube-subscribers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">brands building their own youTube channe<\/a>l by posting original videos, it\u2019s important to play nice with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/how-the-youtube-algorithm-works\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">YouTube algorithm<\/a>, which takes some combination of skill, strategy, budget, and luck. Part of Facebook\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/features\/2020-12-09\/facebook-fb-plans-to-turn-messaging-app-whatsapp-into-a-moneymaking-business\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ongoing strategy<\/a>\u00a0to prioritize private messaging, Facebook Messenger differs in a few key ways from WhatsApp:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>it\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/zakdoffman\/2021\/04\/10\/stop-using-facebook-messenger-on-your-apple-iphone-or-google-android-phone\/?sh=570c218a4823\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">doesn\u2019t offer end-to-end encryption<\/a>\u00a0to users<\/li>\n<li>it does serve a variety of ads (including sponsored messages, inbox ads, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>it also links all of a user\u2019s contacts from both Instagram and Facebook.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In 2019, a Facebook poll found that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/messengernews.fb.com\/2019\/12\/11\/want-to-reach-your-customers-strike-up-a-conversation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">64% of people expect<\/a>\u00a0to be able to message brands for customer service.<\/p>\n\n<p>Messenger features like automatic replies, greetings and away messages can help make customer relationships more efficient. Because American social media sites are restricted in China, the country has its own flourishing social ecology.<\/p>\n\n<p>WeChat is the dominant social network in China, but this super social media app goes beyond messaging. Users can message, video call, shop using\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pay.weixin.qq.com\/index.php\/public\/wechatpay\/home\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WeChat Pay<\/a>, use government services, call rideshares, play games\u2014you name it. According to one survey,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/250546\/leading-social-network-sites-in-china\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">73% of respondents<\/a>\u00a0in China had used WeChat in the past month.<\/p>\n\n<p>In late 2020, 88% of American businesses doing business in China said that Donald Trump\u2019s plan to ban WeChat would have a negative impact on their operations, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1167505\/china-importance-of-wechat-for-american-companies\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">42% predicted they\u2019d lose revenue<\/a>\u00a0if the ban went through.
